How it Works
When you enter our coffee shop, it will look very similar to any other cafe with a main seating area for guests in the front, and a full-service coffee bar on the right.
Bainbridge Play Cafe is just a little bit different than a traditional coffee shop because we are a family-friendly space with a separate play area available in the back of our shop, designed with kids aged 0-6 in mind. (Please see our FAQs section regarding siblings aged 7 or older.) 1-hour play sessions cost $12 per child, and 2-hour play sessions cost $20 per child. Monthly memberships are also available.
We are not a drop-off daycare facility, which means you must stay with your child inside the designated play/seating area at all times.
For capacity reasons, and to ensure everyone enjoys their time in our beautiful space, we only allow 10 kids at a time on the play space floor.
Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are always welcome. We will do our best to accommodate you regardless of the time you arrive. Please note we have implemented a new cleaning schedule, so the play space will be closed from 11:30 - 12:00 every day to properly clean and reset the space.
Please see our FAQs section below for a more in-depth explanation of our rules and what to expect before your visit. Thank you!
Play Space Rules
To keep everyone safe and comfortable, I agree to follow and help enforce the following rules:
No running in the space.
No shoes allowed in the play area; socks are required at all times for children and adults.
Grippy socks are strongly recommended for children to help prevent falls. (Grippy socks are available for purchase for $3 at the check-in desk. Adult socks are available for purchase for $5 at the check-in desk.)
No food or drink is permitted within the play space walls. Exceptions for drinks include milk bottles and adult drinks purchased at the coffee bar. Children must eat and drink at the tables located just outside the play space walls.
No walking or climbing on the white furniture located at the back of the play space.
Please keep all toys and books in their designated areas. (For example, please don't send books down the slide!)
Place all toys that have gone in your child's mouth in the "Yuck Bucket" located on the floating shelf near the handwash sink so staff can properly clean them.

We offer 1-hour play sessions for $12 per child, and 2-hour play sessions for $20 per child.
We highly recommend reserving your time slot in advance through our online reservation system, but walk-ins are always welcome as long as capacity allows. Call or text us at any time at (206) 239-8435 with any questions you might have - we’re happy to help!

Yes - older siblings are welcome to join their younger siblings for a visit, but due to capacity reasons, you must also purchase a $12 or $20 pass for them if they plan to be on the play floor with your younger child.
While our space is thoughtfully designed for children aged 6 and under, we know older siblings are often part of the fun. For safety reasons, since our large wooden play structure is for younger children and it does have a weight limit, we ask that siblings over the age of 6 enjoy the space in other ways during their visit.
All children under the age of 18 must be included in the waiver you sign before you come to play.
Please note that memberships (Otter, Octopus, and Orca) are only intended for children aged 6 and under. Older siblings are not included in memberships and may only play with their younger sibling if space is available when booking.
As a reminder, memberships are not required to play. 1-hour play sessions cost $12 per child, and 2-hour play sessions cost $20 per child if you do not have a membership.

Our play sessions are broken down into 1-hour time slots on our website, with a limit of 10 kids at a time on our play floor per session. That being said, walk-ins are welcome, and we will do our best to accommodate you regardless of the time you arrive, as long as capacity allows.

Please don’t panic if you’re running late! You are welcome to arrive at any time within your 1 or 2-hour play space reservation window. Depending on the time you arrive, as long as capacity allows, you will still receive your full hour or 2 hours, and your reservation time will start when you check in at our host desk. We want you to arrive stress-free, so while we do recommend arriving on time, please don’t worry if you’re running a bit late.
-
We know kids are unpredictable! Cancellations made at least 2 hours before your play session will receive a full refund, giving us enough time to offer your spot to another family.
-
Yes, socks are required for both children and adults during your play session. Grippy socks are not required, but they are strongly recommended to help prevent falls. If you forget your socks at home, grippy socks for children are available for purchase at the front desk for $3, and adult socks are available for $5.
Please note we do require you to put your shoes back on to visit the bathrooms since they’re in a shared hallway space. NO socks in the bathrooms, please, especially if you plan to re-enter the play space floor.

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your play space reservation begins to allow yourself time to order drinks/snacks, use the bathroom, and check in/sign your waiver if you haven’t done so already to take advantage of your full play session. (There is an ordering kiosk inside the play space, though, so if you arrive right on time, no worries! Your kiddos can safely play nearby while you place your order using the kiosk, and the baristas will bring your order in for you when it’s ready.)
