Author Spotlight: Maegan Blackwell Reading + Discussion
Join us for a free community event on July 11th at 1:30 PM.
Join Maegan Blackwell as she reads her book, Before and After Baby. Children 6 and under are welcome to join you and play in the play space while Maegan reads and leads a discussion afterward.
“Before Baby, five-year-old Andy feels loved and safe with her kind and gentle Mommy. After Baby, Andy's world is turned upside down because Mommy has postpartum depression. Before Baby, Andy knew what to expect. After Baby, will everything be ok?” A hopeful story of postpartum depression through a child’s eyes.

Coffee with a Cop

They’ll be at the play cafe from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 27th. Check out Officer Burnham’s cop car, take a turn in the driver’s seat, show Officer Whitney some love, and ask any questions you might have!
This is a free community event sponsored by Town & Country (free donuts will be available!) that will take place mostly outside of the cafe or just inside the front area of our cafe, weather permitting. No cost to attend - just a fun way to spend your Saturday morning! See you there!

Summer Storytime + Free Play
The same storytime you know and love, we’ve just consolidated into one group for the Summer. Tiny Tides and Coastal Kids will be back this Fall!
An engaging, interactive storytime for all ages, taking place every Monday morning at 10:30 AM at the play cafe. This session includes stories, songs, and playful activities that encourage participation, imagination, and early learning. After storytime, there will be about 25 minutes of free play before our next play session begins at 12:00 PM.
Please note that you must reserve your space online to attend our storytimes due to capacity reasons.
We will allow up to 12 children per storytime session. Reserve your spot and sign your waiver ahead of time to save time at check-in! See you there!
Tots On The Trail - Sound to Olympics Trail
Join us for a walk from Bainbridge Play Cafe at 9:00 AM on the first Tuesday of every month. We’ll grab our drinks/snacks and then walk over to the Sound to Olympics Trail, which is located next to Hwy 305. We will walk all the way down to Winslow and then back up to the cafe using the sidewalk on Ericksen. It’s a loop with a little bit of a challenge as we walk slightly uphill on our way back. It’s roughly 2 miles round-trip, and stroller-friendly. Please note we will be crossing busy roads and driveways in heavily trafficked areas, so keep kiddos close.
Our address is 360 Tormey Ln NE, Suite 194. If you’d like to purchase coffee/snacks before our walk, feel free to arrive early or use our convenient mobile pick-up service to order ahead! We will wait until about 9:15 AM before we start our walk.
Tots On The Trail - Bloedel Reserve
Join us for a free walk on the second Tuesday of every month at Bloedel Reserve at 9:00 AM. Bloedel has a gate at the main entrance, so when you arrive, let the gate attendant know that you are with the Tots on the Trail group. Please email totsonthetrail@gmail.com if you plan to attend so that we can give them a rough headcount. The address for Bloedel Reserve is 7571 NE Dolphin Dr, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110.
If you would like anything from the cafe, please place your mobile pick-up order before 8:45 AM, and in the notes, mention that it’s for the Tots on the Trail walk. We’ll bring it with us so you can enjoy it during our walk! See you there!
Tots On The Trail - Sakai Park
Join us for a walk from Bainbridge Play Cafe at 9:00 AM on the third Tuesday of every month. We'll grab our drinks/snacks from the cafe and then venture over to Sakai Park for an out-and-back walk to visit Pia the Peacekeeper. It’s roughly 1.5 miles round-trip, and mostly stroller-friendly with a few small inclines on a rocky/gravel path. It’s not a super smooth paved trail, so a stroller will make it feel a bit tougher than it is.

Tots On The Trail - Blakely Harbor Park
Join us for a walk on the fourth Tuesday of every month at Blakely Harbor Park. There’s a small dirt lot off Blakely Hill Rd NE and NE Halls Hill Rd where you can park. Here’s the Google Maps location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/k1bV7gDCGXbtzJ6a6
The small trail we’ll take from the parking lot is across 3 T Road NE. There’s a section near the Generator Building where the kids like to stop and throw rocks in the water. We often see seals here! It’s a little over a mile round-trip, flat-ish, and mostly stroller-friendly, but I’d say it’s moderately adventurous if you plan to bring a stroller. Please note we will also cross a road twice and walk near traffic for a few minutes. We will wait until about 9:15 AM before we start our walk.

Tots On The Trail - Battle Point Park
Join us for a walk on the rare fifth Tuesday of the month at Battle Point Park. Please park in the lot closest to the playground and meet near the rock sculptures at the entrance to the playground. We will wait until about 9:15 AM before we start our walk.
This is a flat, stroller-friendly loop, so feel free to bring your stroller if you’d like, though it isn’t required. We usually walk clockwise around the park so we’re easier to find for those who are running late and want to catch up. After the walk, we end at the playground and let the kiddos play for a bit before parting ways.

Tide & Nest Postpartum Support Group
“We’re Annie and Selena - perinatal providers and moms on Bainbridge Island—here to support you through the tender postpartum months. With over 25 years of combined experience in pelvic floor therapy and maternal mental health, we understand how vital it is to feel seen, supported, and connected during the postpartum period.
We offer a weekly support group for mothers and babies 0–6 months old. Join us Friday mornings for meaningful conversation, shared experiences, and gentle guidance. Together, we’ll build community, ease isolation, and connect you with local resources that nurture your whole self - body, mind, and spirit.
You’re not alone. We’re so glad you’re here.”

Build a Birdhouse Father’s Day Event
Looking for a fun way to celebrate and make memories this Father’s Day weekend? Join us at BPC for our Build a Birdhouse event! It’s a great chance to bond, get creative, and craft something awesome together.
How it works: Depending on the number of people in your family, you can purchase a ticket for either one birdhouse or two. Your ticket includes a reserved table that seats 4 (we also have highchairs if needed) and everything you need to build and decorate a birdhouse.

✨ 🐙 Give what you can, take what you need. Refresh your kiddo's closet and help us raise money for Bainbridge Play Cafe! Drop off gently used kids’ clothing (size NB - age 6) on October 4th between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, then arrive on October 5th ready to shop! $10 suggested donation at the door (Venmo or cash). Please bring your own bags. A small play area will be available for kids under 6! 🐙 ✨
