Coming April 2026, Bainbridge Play Cafe will have a tasteful, modern under-the-sea theme with a hygge* feel.

Imagine social gatherings for moms, morning groups for dads, classes for kids, courses for new parents, free weekly storytimes, and everything in between. We are a Scandinavian-inspired shop, so the play equipment will reflect the style shown in the renderings below. We will have toys that feel calm, timeless, design-forward, and intended for open-ended play.

Please note that the images below are renderings only, and the space, including the play equipment, might not be identical to what is shown in the photos.

our vision for bpc
A group of people sitting at a table inside a cafe, chatting and working on laptops, with a child walking past them, sunlight streaming through large windows.

We truly believe raising kids takes a village, and we’re so excited to create ours right here on Bainbridge Island.

  • Our coffee shop with grab-and-go snack options will be open to everyone, but will feature a membership-based play space in the back designed for kids ages 6 and under. Click here to learn more about how it works!

If you’re flying solo, or don’t plan on using the play space, no worries! You’ll find seating in the front of the cafe, similar to any other coffee shop on the island, so sit back, relax, and enjoy your drink! We’re a community space, so everyone is welcome here.

  • What makes BPC different is our membership-based play space in the back of the cafe. If you’re visiting with little ones who want to play, you’ll be able to purchase a day pass or membership to reserve your 90-minute session. (While we do accept a few walk-ins per play session, we recommend reserving your spot online or confirming we’re not fully booked before you arrive.)

Then, simply check in at the front desk, sign your waiver, and you’re ready to play! (Don’t forget your socks! If you do, no worries, we have some available for purchase.)

  • Our play cafe will offer classes for little ones like music and art, courses for new parents including lactation support and infant CPR, and we’re so excited to host events for kids of all ages. You can even rent the space for birthday parties! Click here to learn more about birthday parties.

While our main focus will be on babies/toddlers and their caretakers, we want all kids to feel welcome at BPC. We plan to have a teens & tweens corner in the main cafe area, and we have plenty of events planned for families that will cater to kids of all ages in the community. We want you and your kids to feel at home in our space. Thank you for being a part of our BPC family!

Meet The Owners

Hi, BPC family! Thank you for following along on this journey as we work to bring Bainbridge Play Cafe to life. Our names are Amanda and Adam, and we have a four-year-old daughter named Lily.

We love being a part of the Bainbridge community and can’t wait to open the doors to our family-focused space in a few months.

A little bit about us: Adam is an avid cyclist & coffee enthusiast, and is looking forward to hosting meet-ups for dads at the cafe. Amanda enjoys photography, baking, and building community through her toddler hiking group, Tots on the Trail.

Construction started mid-December, and we’re ecstatic about it! We’ll bring you along and post photos and videos as things start to take shape!

Meet our wonderful growing team below!

Our Team

Zoe Thomas

Zoe is the General Manager at Bainbridge Play Cafe. She has been such a huge help as we get the cafe up and running. We can’t wait for your families to meet her!

A little about Zoe: She was born and raised on Bainbridge Island and is a first-time mom with a five-month-old son at home. Her professional background blends early childhood education and hospitality. She is passionate about creating spaces where families feel welcomed, supported, and at home.

What excites her most about joining Bainbridge Play Cafe is the chance to help cultivate a place where great coffee, community, and play come together. Zoe can’t wait to support the BPC team, build meaningful connections, and turn the cafe into a joyful hub for our island’s little ones (and their grownups!).

Amanda Aude

Amanda is the owner of Bainbridge Play Cafe. She’s a mom, photographer, and founder of the toddler hiking group, Tots on the Trail, which takes place every Tuesday morning on the island.

Opening a play cafe has been a long-time dream of hers, and she is currently working hard to bring this dream to life, right here on Bainbridge.

Earlier this year, Amanda was one of 24 Entrepreneurs in Kitsap County accepted into the 2025 Matchstick Lab Micro Business Accelerator. She learned so much, and it gave her the confidence she needed to push through and pursue her dream of opening Bainbridge Play Cafe.

Motherhood wasn’t the easiest transition for her, and looking back, she realized how much she would have benefited from a place like BPC. She hopes our cafe will be a safe space and second home for you and your little one(s).
