Coming Winter 2025, Bainbridge Play Cafe will have a tasteful, modern under-the-sea theme with a hygge* feel.
Imagine social gatherings for moms, morning groups for dads, classes for kids, courses for new parents, free weekly storytimes, and everything in between. We are a Scandinavian-inspired shop, so the play equipment will reflect the style shown in the renderings below. We will have toys that feel calm, timeless, design-forward, and intended for open-ended play.

We truly believe raising kids takes a village, and we’re so excited to create ours right here on Bainbridge Island.

Our coffee shop with grab-and-go snack options will be open to everyone, but will feature a membership-based play space in the back designed for kids ages 6 and under. Click here to learn more about how it works!
If you’re flying solo, or don’t plan on using the play space, no worries! You’ll find seating in the front of the cafe, similar to any other coffee shop on the island, so sit back, relax, and enjoy your drink! We’re a community space, so everyone is welcome here.

What makes BPC different is our membership-based play space in the back of the cafe. If you’re visiting with little ones who want to play, you’ll be able to purchase a day pass or membership to reserve your 90-minute session. (While we do accept a few walk-ins per play session, we recommend reserving your spot online or confirming we’re not fully booked before you arrive.)
Then, simply check in at the front desk, sign your waiver, and you’re ready to play! (Don’t forget your socks! If you do, no worries, we have some available for purchase.)

Our play cafe will offer classes for little ones like music and art, courses for new parents including lactation support and infant CPR, and we’re so excited to host events for kids of all ages. You can even rent the space for birthday parties! Click here to learn more about birthday parties.
While our main focus will be on babies/toddlers and their caretakers, we want all kids to feel welcome at BPC. We plan to have a teens & tweens corner in the main cafe area, and we have plenty of events planned for families that will cater to kids of all ages in the community. Hi! I’m a mom, photographer, and founder of the toddler hiking group, Tots on the Trail, which takes place every Tuesday morning on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
Opening a play cafe has been a long-time dream of mine, and I’m currently working hard to bring this dream to life, right here on the island.
Earlier this year, I was one of 24 Entrepreneurs in Kitsap County accepted into the 2025 Matchstick Lab Micro Business Accelerator. It was such an honor to be selected! I learned so much, and it gave me the confidence I needed to push through and pursue my dream of opening Bainbridge Play Cafe.
Motherhood wasn’t the easiest transition for me, and looking back, I realize how much I would have benefited from a place like ours. I hope our cafe will be a safe space and second home for you and your little one(s).
In my free time, I enjoy running, baking, photography, and traveling the world with my husband and our 3-year-old daughter.
