Bainbridge Play Cafe has a modern under-the-sea theme with a hygge* feel.
In addition to being a play space and coffee shop, we also have social gatherings for parents, free weekly storytimes, classes, birthday parties, private event rental opportunities, and everything in between.
Coffee, community, hygge.
We are a Scandinavian-inspired shop with toys, play equipment, and furniture intended to feel calm, timeless, design-forward, and intended for open-ended play.

our vision for bpc
We truly believe raising children takes a village, and we’re so excited to create ours right here on Bainbridge Island.

Our full-service coffee shop with pastries and grab-and-go snack options is open to everyone in the community, similar to any other coffee shop on the island, but ours features a play space in the back designed for kids ages 6 and under. It costs $12 for 60 minutes of play. Reservations are highly recommended! Click here to learn more about how it works!
If you’re flying solo without a little one in tow, or coming in with your child with no intentions of using the play space, no worries! You’ll find seating in the front of the cafe to sit back, relax, and enjoy your coffee! We’re a community space, so everyone is welcome here.

What makes BPC (Bainbridge Play Cafe) different from other coffee shops is our play space designed for children aged 6 and under, located in the back of our cafe. If you’re visiting with little ones who want to play, you’ll be able to purchase a $12 play pass or membership to reserve your 60-minute session. (While we do accept a few walk-ins per play session, we recommend reserving your spot online.)
Then, simply check in at the front desk, sign your waiver (you can sign it ahead of time here!), and you’re ready to play! (Don’t forget your socks - for children and adults! If you do, no worries, we have some available for purchase at the front desk.)
-
We offer free baby & toddler storytimes each week, postpartum support groups for new moms, coffee & bike meet-ups for dads, and everything in between. You can even rent our space for birthday parties! Click here to learn more about birthday parties. (Coming early June!)
While our main focus will be on babies/toddlers and their caretakers, we want all kids to feel welcome at Bainbridge Play Cafe, which is why we plan to offer events and gatherings for those who have aged out of our play space throughout the year. Keep an eye on our calendar of events! We want you and your kids to feel at home in our space. Thank you for being a part of our BPC family!
Meet The Owners
Hi, BPC family! Thank you for following along on this journey as we work to bring Bainbridge Play Cafe to life. Our names are Amanda and Adam, and we have a four-year-old daughter named Lily.
We love being a part of the Bainbridge community and can’t wait to open the doors to our family-focused space this May.
A little bit about us: Adam is an avid cyclist & coffee enthusiast, and is looking forward to hosting meet-ups for dads at the cafe. Amanda enjoys photography, baking, and building community through her toddler hiking group, Tots on the Trail. Lily is a worm-loving girlie who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. She loves K-Pop, riding her bike, and making new friends she can play with at the cafe.
Meet our wonderful, growing team below!

Amanda Aude, Owner
amanda@bainbridgeplaycafe.com
Amanda is the owner of Bainbridge Play Cafe. She’s a mom, photographer, and founder of the toddler hiking group, Tots on the Trail, which takes place every Tuesday morning on the island.
Opening a play cafe has been a long-time dream of hers, and she is currently working hard to bring this dream to life, right here on Bainbridge.
Earlier this year, Amanda was one of 24 Entrepreneurs in Kitsap County accepted into the 2025 Matchstick Lab Micro Business Accelerator. She learned so much, and it gave her the confidence she needed to push through and pursue her dream of opening Bainbridge Play Cafe.
Motherhood wasn’t the easiest transition for her, and looking back, she realized how much she would have benefited from a place like BPC. She hopes our cafe will be a safe space and second home for you and your little one(s).
Zoe Thomas, General Manager
hello@bainbridgeplaycafe.com
Zoe is the General Manager at Bainbridge Play Cafe. She has been such a huge help as we get the cafe up and running. We can’t wait for your families to meet her!
A little about Zoe: She was born and raised on Bainbridge Island and is a first-time mom with a nine-month-old son at home. Her professional background blends early childhood education and hospitality. She is passionate about creating spaces where families feel welcomed, supported, and at home.
What excites her most about joining Bainbridge Play Cafe is the chance to help cultivate a place where great coffee, community, and play come together. Zoe can’t wait to support the BPC team, build meaningful connections, and turn the cafe into a joyful hub for our island’s little ones (and their grownups!).
