How it Works
When you enter our coffee shop, it will look very similar to any other cafe with a main seating area for guests in the front, and a full-service coffee bar on the right.
Bainbridge Play Cafe is just a little bit different than a traditional coffee shop because we are a family-friendly space with a separate play area available in the back of our shop, designed with kids aged 0-6 in mind. (Please see our FAQs section regarding siblings aged 7 or older.) 60-minute play passes cost $12 per child. Monthly memberships are also available.
We are not a drop-off daycare facility, which means you must stay with your child inside the designated play/seating area at all times.
For capacity reasons, and to ensure everyone enjoys their time in our beautiful space, we only allow 10 kids at a time in the play space for each 60-minute play session, and you must reserve your play time slot ahead of time online.
While we can occasionally accommodate drop-ins depending on capacity, drop-in visits to play in our space are not always guaranteed. Reservations are highly, highly recommended!
Please see our FAQs section below for a more in-depth explanation of our rules and what to expect before your visit. Thank you!
Play Space Rules
To keep everyone safe and comfortable, I agree to follow and help enforce the following rules:
No running in the space.
No shoes allowed in the play area; socks are required at all times for children and adults.
Grippy socks are strongly recommended for children to help prevent falls. (Grippy socks are available for purchase for $3 at the check-in desk. Adult socks are available for purchase for $5 at the check-in desk.)
No food or drink is permitted within the play space walls. Exceptions for drinks include milk bottles and adult drinks purchased at the coffee bar. Children must eat and drink at the tables located just outside the play space walls.
No walking or climbing on the white furniture located at the back of the play space.
Please keep all toys and books in their designated areas. (For example, please don't send books down the slide!)
Place all toys that have gone in your child's mouth in the "Yuck Bucket" located on the floating shelf near the handwash sink so staff can properly clean them.
Frequently Asked Questions

Our play space sessions are 60 minutes.
We highly recommend reserving your time slot in advance through our online reservation system.

Yes - older siblings are welcome to join their younger siblings for a visit! While our space is thoughtfully designed for children aged 6 and under, we know bigger siblings are often part of the fun.
We offer a $10 “Sibling Pass,” which can be added to your reservation at checkout when space allows. This helps us keep the play environment comfortable, safe, and enjoyable for our littlest guests.
For safety, our large wooden play structure is designed specifically for younger children, and it does have a weight limit, so we ask that older siblings enjoy the space in other ways during their visit.
When booking, please reserve play spots based on the number of children under age 6 in your party, and then add a “Sibling Pass” for any children over the age of 7. All children must be included in the waiver you sign before they come to play.
Please note that memberships (Otter, Octopus, and Orca) are only intended for children ages 6 and under. Older siblings are not included in memberships and may only join if space is available when booking.
Example: If you have a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old, you would purchase an Otter membership for your younger child and add a Sibling Pass for your older child when reserving your visit.
As a reminder, memberships are not required to play. 60-minute play passes cost $12 if you do not have a membership.

Walk-ins are not always guaranteed and may only be available if there’s a last-minute cancellation. Please check online to see if the time slot you’re requesting is available before coming to the play cafe. (This will avoid disappointed kiddos if the play space is full!)
-
You are welcome to arrive at any time within your 60-minute reservation window. No refunds will be issued if you’re unable to make it on time to take advantage of the full 60 minutes.
-
We know kids are unpredictable! Cancellations made at least 2 hours before your play session will receive a full refund, giving us enough time to offer your spot to another family.
-
Yes, socks are required for both children and adults during your play session. If you forget yours at home, grippy socks for children are available for purchase at the front desk for $3, and adult socks are available for $5.
Please note we do require you to put your shoes back on to visit the bathrooms since they’re in a shared hallway space. NO socks in the bathrooms, please, especially if you plan to re-enter the play space floor.
-
We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your play space reservation begins to allow yourself time to order drinks/snacks, use the bathroom, and check in/sign your waiver if you haven’t done so already to take advantage of your full 60-minute play session.
